TCAP Test Data has been Released from the State for 2021-2022

Here is a brief overview:
"I am very proud of the hard-work and dedication of our teachers, students, and staff. We are pleased to announce that 15 of the 18 tested areas included in the Spring of 2022 data showed improvement! We realize every school system will always have areas that require improvement, and ours is no different. We definitely hope to continue this success into the future!"

Here are some highlights:
OCS recently received district-level results for the 2021-2022 TCAP assessment. There were many positive gains in the data as well as opportunities for future growth at each grade level. OCS has an overall participation rate of 99%. TCAP data for the district includes results from English Language Arts (ELA), math, science and social studies for grades 3-8. High School End of Course (EOC) exams include English I and II, Algebra I, II, and Geometry, and Biology.
Highlights from the 2021-2022 TCAP include:
English Language Arts (ELA) 3-8
OCS was extremely pleased with ELA results as they saw the highest growth from students meeting or exceeding expectations at all grade levels since 2019 pre-pandemic levels. In 2022, OCS students reached a proficiency rate of 35% up 7% from the 2021 rate of 28%.
Math 3-8
OCS saw slight gains from 2021. Students moved from 29% meeting or exceeding expectations in 2021 to 31% in 2022. The district has not yet returned to pre-pandemic achievement levels of 2019. While reflecting positively, recovering math learning loss will take time.
EOC (End of Course Assessments) 9-12
OCS saw an increase in results from the 2022 EOC assessment data. OCS students saw an increase in Alg I, Alg II, and Biology. OCS students showed dramatic growth in Eng I and Eng II. OCS saw an overall increase in students meeting or exceeding expectations of 5% on the EOC exams in ELA and Math.
Concerns for the district include:
Proficiency Levels in ELA in grades 3-4
Returning to pre-pandemic levels in Math for all grade levels.
Increasing overall EOC Success Rate and ACT Composite
