About Me

Karla Crabtree
Special Education Case Manager
Livingston Academy / Overton County Schools
I'm Karla Crabtree. I teach in the Academic Interventionist at Livingston Academy. I am also a Work Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator for Special Education WBL.

I graduate from Livingston Academy in 1992. I went to school to be a dental assistant and worked in a dentist office for several years before deciding I wanted to teach. I went back to school to Tennessee Tech. In 2013, I received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I began teaching at Rickman Elementary right away. This was a great school and I loved working there. My mother had worked and retired from this school.

In 2015, I accepted a position at Livingston Academy teaching a mathematics inclusion class. This class taught me a lot about myself and teaching high school students. I decided to go back to Tennessee Tech and work towards a master's degree. In 2017, I received a M.A. in Special Education.

I am so excited to begin my 10th year at LA! I now the Academic Interventionist at Livingston Academy. I have the most amazing job and the BEST students in the building!

Aside from teaching, I have an amazing husband, Shawn, who supports me in all that I do. We have two beautiful girls. Ciara (23) and Emmie (21), who are both in college. We live in the Dry Hollow Community. We enjoy spending time with our girls, camping at Dale Hollow Lake and farming with our family. We have been very blessed by the Lord.
