Livingston Academy students enjoyed a very special visit from the Overton County Arts Council on August 19. Representing OCAC were Education Chairperson Rita Richardson and Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Zach Stephens. Miss Richardson informed students of exciting events in the near future, such as October 4's Plein Air Competition and Art Sale on the Square, as well as education and scholarship opportunities through the Council. Especially informative was local artist Nicole Groot Morrison's live painting tutorial, wherein she opened up about her artistic process and took questions from the audience; it was like watching an episode of Bob Ross's The Joy of Painting. Livingston Academy faculty, staff, and students are so thankful for the incredible community around us and cannot wait for further collaborations with the Arts Council.
