Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Brooke McDonald to the Livingston Academy faculty! Born and raised in LaFollette, TN, Mrs. McDonald went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism. Despite spending ten years in marketing, Mrs. McDonald couldn’t ignore the call to teach. “Education was something that remained on my heart throughout my career,” she said. “When one of my closest friends returned to school to earn her teaching license, her journey inspired me to pursue my own.” Before joining us at LA, Mrs. McDonald worked as an ELA instructor at Jackson County Middle School.
Mrs. McDonald has resided in Livingston with her husband of sixteen years and two children– both Rickman Elementary students– since 2018. “My family is my greatest blessing and biggest source of support,” says McDonald. “I am also especially proud to be completing my master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Continuing my education while teaching and raising a family has been a rewarding journey, and I am excited to keep growing both personally and professionally.”
Teaching English II, Mrs. McDonald brings a unique perspective to the classroom: “My background in journalism has given me a strong foundation in writing, critical thinking, and communication. Making the transition into education has truly been one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I am grateful to be doing work that feels both meaningful and impactful.”
Livingston Academy’s faculty, staff, and students are lucky to count Mrs. Brooke McDonald among their ranks. Together, we are LA!
